MEET THE DOCTORS
Dr. Christie Schmidt
Dentist/Owner
Dr. Christie Schmidt has been practicing dentistry in the Edmonton area since 2015. She graduated from the University of Calgary with a Bachelor of Science (Hons) in Kinesiology and a Master’s Degree in Neurophysiology. Her dental training was completed at Western University and Dr. Schmidt has been seeking to continue increasing her knowledge base ever since.
From the beginning of her career, Dr. Schmidt has been utilizing digital dentistry to expand her abilities and offer a full range of treatments to her patients. After spending six years as an associate, she branched out and bought her own practice in beautiful Camrose, Alberta. The process of transforming this practice from analog to digital has been quite an adventure, with lots of learning and development opportunities along the way. Her passion for dentistry and patient care has helped illuminate the path to success through the inevitable challenges business ownership can bring.
Dr. Schmidt has pursued advanced education in a variety of fields within dentistry, including neuromodulators, clear aligner therapy, implants, surgery, IV sedation, and will soon be completing her Kois training. Digital dentistry has played an important role in furthering her success in many of these areas, as well as bringing joy and excitement to her day. Dr. Schmidt is looking forward to adding to the technology in her office and helping to inspire those unfamiliar with it to grow with the field of dentistry as it moves towards the future.
When Dr. Schmidt is not in the office, you will likely find her hanging out with her husband and dog, travelling outside the country, or spending time with her friends and family.
Dr. Dennis Fair
General Dentist
Dr. Fair is a beloved veteran dentist in our community. Dr. Fair graduated from the University of Alberta and began practicing as an associate in Alberta and later purchased his own practice in Prince Albert, Saskatchewan. He was able to provide emergent care in hospital there and acted as chair in this department for several years. With this experience he was able move back to Alberta and purchase Care Dental, doing sedation dentistry and serve on staff at St. Mary’s Hospital.
As a graduate of the KOIS center in 2014, Spear Centre Faculty member, international congress of Oral Implantologist member and American Dental Society of Anesthesiology member he continues to offer extensive knowledge and strong clinical standards in our community. In 2018, Dr. Fair became an examiner on the National Dental Examining Board of Canada. Dr. Fair sold Care Dental to Dr. Christie Schmidt in 2021, and continues to work in practice serving his long-term patients and providing IV sedation to his existing referring dental practices in our area.
Dr. Davin Wilcox
General Dentist

Dr. Wilcox was born and raised here in Camrose and loves the Camrose Area. Davin had been a member of the Care Dental team since 2005. Davin attended Augustana University College (when it was still “Augustana”) but earned his Bachelor of Science degree and Doctor of Dental Surgery at the University of Alberta as well as Facial aesthetics training (“Botox”) at the PTIFA institute in Vancouver, B.C. Davin’s fun and straight forward personality shows in his care for his patients.
Working with Staff at the St. Mary’s Hospital operating room since 2005, Dr. Wilcox has been able to help service special needs patients, children, and patients with complex medical histories under general anesthesia.
When Davin’s not at work… you will find him chauffeuring and then cheering on his kids in their numerous sports and activities or sitting around the firepit with his lovely wife.
Dr. Scott Loraas
General Dentist
Dr. Scott Loraas, affectionately known as Dr. Scott, has been with Care Dental for 14 years. As a graduate of University of Alberta in 2007 with a BMSC in Science and then a doctorate in Dental Surgery, he has spent the better part of his career with us here in Camrose. Dr. Scott believes in long term connections with his patients and loves to spend time chatting with them in the exam room and learning more about their lives.
Dr. Scott has completed KOIS training and loves to utilize his clinical knowledge in his treatment plans and general dentistry. With over 15 years experience as a dentist, you can be sure you are in good hands. He is accepting new patients and would love to see you in the clinic.
